Meet Our Team
Maksim (Max) Ilyukhin, DVM Practice owner
Dr. Max earned his DVM from the Moscow Academy of Applied Biotechnology in 1996 which entailed the completion of a surgical externship. He received his US Veterinary Certification from Iowa State University in 2004. Dr. Max has been active in both Surgical Specialty & Private Practice in the Chicagoland area for the past 13 years. Special interests: Orthopedic Surgery Extensive Soft Tissue Surgery Medical Workup & Diagnosis
Heather Shaw, Lead Veterinary Technician
Heather started her animal career working at TOPs Kennel in Grayslake while she was in High school. From there, she went to school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Heather graduated in 2010 with a bachelors degree in Animal Science. After college, she worked at the Humane Society in Urbana for a of couple years then started her veterinary technician career at the Lake Forest animal clinic. She worked there until 2013, when she left and started work at Island Lake Veterinary Clinic. She has been here, in Island Lake Veterinary Clinic, ever since and has worked her way up the ranks to become the lead technician and office manager. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her four-legged kids and husband. At any point in time she has 2 cats and 2-3 dogs.
